More weight, smaller disc blades, ect. I would say, as a general rule, a 20hp tractor will pul a 8ft tandem disc in all the above conditions. We rent a disc chisel (twisted shovels) every once in a while to pull behind our Oliver 1855 and 7 shanks is all that tractor wants.
